Our client, a growing manufacturing company in Comer, GA, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep their production equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this role, you will focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while partnering with production and outside vendors to minimize downtime and support high-quality operations. If You Have
- A high school diploma or equivalent with 1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience, or a technical/associate degree with 0–2 years of experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, experience using basic hand and power tools, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outside as needed.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, compressors, sanitary piping, and welding/fabrication (experience with fermentation equipment is a plus).
- Comfort with basic computer skills and Microsoft Word/Excel, plus the ability to keep accurate maintenance and equipment records.
- A track record of working safely (including adherence to electrical safety guidelines such as NFPA 70E), prioritizing multiple tasks, and staying organized with tools, spare parts, and materials.
- The flexibility to work independently or as part of a team, including some nights, after-hours, or weekends when required.
You Will Be
- Performing and documenting routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic single-point calibrations on plant equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing simple to moderately complex issues on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and supporting the installation of new or existing equipment.
- Coordinating and overseeing outside vendors for more complex maintenance and calibration work while maintaining accurate equipment and maintenance database records.
- Fabricating and welding parts as needed for repairs, retrofits, and modifications, and occasionally operating material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Following all safety, quality, and training procedures, supporting the Production Team as needed, and taking ownership of an orderly, safe, and well-organized work environment.
