BOS Staffing is seeking a detail‑oriented Lab Technician to support quality control for our client in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment in Tucker, GA. In this role, you will work largely independently on night shift, performing quality checks on batches, entering results in SAP, and partnering with production to ensure products meet specifications.
What We Offer:
- 12‑hour night shift with a consistent 2‑2‑3 schedule (every other weekend off).
- Pay rate of $18–$20/hour, based on experience.
- Structured training with an experienced Lab Technician (about one month, split between days and nights).
- Hands‑on experience in a controlled lab environment with exposure to production processes.
If You Have:
- A 2‑year community college or AA degree in chemistry/biochemistry and up to 12 months lab experience, or
- 5 years of production experience.
- Strong basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages; rounding, addition/subtraction/multiplication/division).
- The ability to read and understand safety rules, SDS, batch sheets, procedures, and work instructions.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; Access a plus) and the ability to learn SAP.
- Experience in a controlled lab environment (preferred) and familiarity with common lab equipment (viscometers, color comparators, etc., preferred but not required).
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally more with assistance, stand/walk/climb stairs, and move materials safely.
- A confident, quick‑learning, self‑directed work style and clear, professional communication.
You Will Be:
- Working independently in the QA lab on night shift, performing up to three quality checks per batch.
- Collecting time‑sensitive samples and retaining inventory for raw materials and finished products.
- Entering and backing up QA test data accurately in SAP and completing all required documentation.
- Providing timely QA information to production and distribution, including labeling rejected pallets and communicating released material.
- Going onto the production floor to perform first‑piece checks and deliver batch tickets.
- Maintaining lab housekeeping, critical equipment, and lab inventory to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Managing obsolete, off‑spec, and rejected material storage areas to minimize waste.
- Responding to customer complaint checks within required timeframes and reporting issues to management.
- Communicating critical QA issues, equipment problems, schedule changes, and assignments to the facility technical manager and fellow lab techs.
- Following all EHS and safety requirements, wearing appropriate PPE (including steel‑toe shoes and long sleeves), and demonstrating accountability for results.
