BOS Staffing is partnering with our client, an innovative and growing manufacturing company in Comer, GA, to hire an experienced Cost Accountant & Plant Administrator for their pilot plant and consolidated business. In this high‑impact role, you’ll serve as the financial expert for the holding company, the manufacturing facility, and the overseas research facility, work closely with the CEO and Manufacturing Manager, have a direct voice in financial decisions, and see your work translate quickly into real operational and cost improvements. If You Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 10+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 6+ years of management experience in a manufacturing company owning plant cost accounting and month‑end close processes.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with OECD guidelines is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with:
- Cost accounting, cost‑volume‑profit (CVP) analysis, and standard cost setting.
- Inventory management and reporting on a FIFO basis (raw materials, WIP, finished goods, supplies).
- AR/AP, cash management, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet management, including CAPEX.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and comfort with MS Office; experience with MES, ERP, EDMS, Quality Events systems, and other plant/financial systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and administrative practices for personnel, and HR/administrative experience or aptitude, including working with payroll providers, benefits administration, and maintaining employee handbook information.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on‑site in a manufacturing environment and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
You Will Be:
- Acting as the company’s cost accounting and financial lead, performing and managing all accounting, financial, and administrative activities under the direction of the CEO, with close collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager.
- Preparing the company’s consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) for the holding company, pilot plant, and overseas research facility.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and communicating financial results to various levels of management, and providing counsel to leadership on revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, cost management, operational improvements, capital expenditure investments, and asset management.
- Managing month‑end close for the business, including account reconciliations/settlements, intercompany transactions, and ensuring accurate ledgers and financial reporting.
- Collecting and analyzing data about operational and administrative costs (materials, labor, manufacturing overhead, capital spending, administration, shipping, etc.), setting and analyzing standard costs for manufactured goods, calculating production variances, and performing CVP analysis by product line.
- Identifying cost‑saving opportunities, managing costs of business processes (administration, labor, shipping, etc.), reporting cost trends monthly, and recommending process and policy changes to reduce cost and maximize profit.
- Performing monthly inventory counts with plant staff and maintaining correct and accurate inventory values for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and supplies on a FIFO basis.
- Monitoring cash position for all legal entities, forecasting future cash requirements, and managing cash management processes.
- Handling AR/AP activities, including collecting receivables, paying invoices, managing disputed transactions, and preparing and maintaining accrual accounts.
- Performing and reconciling intercompany transactions and maintaining accurate accounting of all transactions, ensuring all ledger accounts are balanced and compliant with GAAP.
- Reviewing general ledger activity, trial balances, and financial statements for accuracy, researching and correcting discrepancies, and monitoring and improving information systems and internal accounting controls.
- Setting up and enhancing the use of QuickBooks and other software systems to support accurate, efficient financial operations.
- Coordinating with third‑party payroll providers in the U.S. and U.K. to process payroll accurately and on time.
- Coordinating with third‑party tax accountants in the U.S. and U.K. to prepare periodic tax returns and filings.
- Overseeing and coordinating HR and administrative areas including insurance, employee benefits, housekeeping, employee handbook information, and other general plant administrative activities to help maintain a well‑run, compliant plant environment.
