Job Description
Bos Staffing is seeking talent for a R&D Manager for Saturating Resins Group located in Moncure, NC location. This position will be responsible for organizing and managing the research and product development portfolio in coordination with the business leadership for both the Surfaces and Resins businesses with focus on the paper saturation and paper coating chemistries and application technologies.  This is a leadership role reporting to the Sr. Director of R&D responsible for both Resins and Growth & Innovation groups, with management responsibility for a team of 3 scientists at company’s Moncure, NC site. This role will be managing a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.

R&D Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Define, prioritize, manage the existing/new product development portfolio while developing an in-depth understanding of the production processes
- Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
- Manage a safe working environment in the lab
- Proactively liaise among business leadership, marketing, sales, and manufacturing to support new products and product improvements. Provide corresponding guidance to R&D and manufacturing teams toward product and process optimization
- Develop and implement production processes and new construction for specialized products and support manufacturing in identified initiatives
- Analyze, interpret, document, and effectively communicate results of lab work for timely decision making on projects and technical support initiatives
- Budget, report, schedule, and cost control defined scopes of work
- Allocate, adjust and request additional resources, in alignment with business needs and available skillsets
- Develop technical acumen, capabilities including new application testing, and staff competencies for professional growth.
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function
- Implement all aspects of lab and application testing work in a safe work environment
- Develop and improve team skills with emphasis on hiring and maintaining a top talent team
- Provide regular input on improving or upgrading capabilities within the laboratory to enhance efficiency/productivity

Experienced leader with track record of developing and implementing new product growth programs in a business to business environment
- A high energy leader, experienced in working with cross functional teams and a great sense of ownership: ‘it’s my business’ mentality, including a strong external focus and a growth mindset
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Experienced technical leadership experience with emphasis on translating market need into new product to product scale-up and process design
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- High levels of self-motivation, initiative, and interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project and project portfolio management skills, particularly in a complex project portfolioÂ
- Proven track record of building collaborative teams
- Demonstrated commitment to all Health, Safety, and Environmental principles and initiatives.
- Willingness to travel 25%, sometimes internationally
